The Road to a Better Life

The Road to a Better Life

In addition to master’s level graduate education, my psychotherapeutic style has been influenced by advanced training with the Tavistock Centre for Couples Relationships in London, England, and the Relationship Recovery Institute.

I am licensed by the State of Maine to provide clinical counseling and psychotherapy.

When we first meet, we will talk about the concerns that have brought you into therapy; we will move at a pace which is comfortable for you; some of my clients wish to explore these concerns gradually, and some prefer to “hit the ground running” at our first meeting.

Some people arrive at our first session carrying painful wounds; my office provides a safe environment so that those injuries receive the sensitive attention they require. We may discover that some wounds contain messages of wisdom and truth, which can be retrieved in the service of your emotional healing and recovery.

We will collaborate in working through your struggles, progressing along your own path of development, and incorporating the values of living with more creativity, intimacy, freedom, integrity, autonomy, pleasure, and joy.

You may recover strengths and personal resources which had been unavailable to you in the turmoil of the recent past. New possibilities will be imagined, to help you clarify the future that you most hope for. The healthy aspects of your personality can grow stronger and more vital, as you discover ways of living with more skill and grace.

I actively collaborate with treating physicians and psychiatrists, and facilitate referral to modalities such as yoga, nutritional counseling, massage therapy, and acupuncture. My office is located in the River Studio building in Hallowell; I encourage you to visit our building’s website: visit www.the-river-studio.com for more information.
